We believe the mission of the Church is to make disciples of Christ that follow

His leading, show His love and proclaim salvation in Christ alone.

What is a Cowboy Church?

A non-traditional, relaxed setting that expresses the  message of hope with a country-western emphasis.

  • The music is a mix of country-western and contemporary praise music.
  • Bible based teaching comes with illustrations that incorporate the western lifestyle and a church that emphasizes the whole family.

  • The dress code is casual, come as you are, but a lot of people will be in Western attire.

  • Arena and outdoor ministries are central in the life of the Cowboy Church. Such as, Team roping, calf roping, barrel racing and family play days, trail rides, skeet shooting and archery.

ISAAC SMITH - TEACHING PASTOR

Isaac grew up in Western South Dakota working as a ranch hand. He and Esther have been in ministry as Pastor and District Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church for 50 years. Isaac loves western culture and continued to help lcal ranchers whenever possible.

For the last 20 years they have lived near Devils Tower, Wyoming and keep horses to help neighbors with cow work,  hunt in the mountains, and ride with grandkids.

TOM KARP - LEAD PASTOR

Tom was raised on a ranch in Western South Dakota that his family still owns and operates.  As much as possible, he enjoys going out to help with fencing, working cattle, and whatever projects come up.  Tom enjoys spending time with his bride of over 30 years, Brenda, and their 3 children.

Tom has been in ministry for more than 25 years in a variety of positions: youth pastor, assistant pastor, interim pastor, church plant pastor at The Bridge, The Northwest District of the Welseyan Church Vice President and now Lead Pastor at the Black Hills Cowboy Church.

He also enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking...pretty much everything outdoors.
